A bit more than a year ago, I wrote a post making a promise to watch the Naruto with an open mind. As you all must probably already know, I’m a bit of a procrastinator, but I finally have seen the original series and am here to finally review it!
To put it simply, Naruto is…an average series. It has some positive aspects, but there’s also a lot worth complaining about. Before I start to go more into details, I just want to get it out there that I pretty much skipped all the 80 filler episodes from hell. I tried to get through at least a few episodes, but it was unbearably bad. This is my second year taking part in secret santa and this time I was given the choice of watching Giant Killing, Galaxy Angel, or the original Mobile Suite Gundam Movie Trilogy. I decided to go with the Gundam Trilogy, which turned out to be nearly seven hours of mecha action!

Initially, I had planned to make a top five of my favourite from the season, but after trying to come up with a list I realized I couldn’t even think of five series worthy of making a top five for this season. Summer has brought a lot of crumminess with it. On account of this, I decided to go a different route than usual by simply making a roundup of all the anime I watched this season and throwing them in one of three categories (bad, average, good). Luckily, the fall season is already looking up to have much more promise! Read the rest of this entry »

Hyouka, Kyoto Animation’s latest finished series, is not for everyone. Ever since it first started airing, the reviews for it were very mixed. I can understand the complaints, but if you manage to get absorbed in the, at times, simplistic mysteries and the cast of interesting characters, it doesn’t take much to realize the value this series has. K-ON is an overrated anime that if people admit to liking, at least some part of their credibility of having any sort of taste is often put into question. With that said, I still love this franchise. I loved watching season one, and then when season two was announced, I was genuinely excited. I even felt the second season turned out to be much better than the first. So after 39 episodes of me enjoying the daily lives of the light music club, this movie was announced, and it’s no surprise that I found this to be another amusing chapter to the franchise!
