About
Hello and Welcome to Anime Princess!

I decided that it was about time that I updated this page, even if I actually hate writing an about page because I never know what to say…
I am lostty, pronounced with two syllables and the “ty” part it said like how you say the “tie” that a guy wears. For some reason, that pronunciation makes a big difference for me. As for the origin behind that name, well it is a long story and I think I may even be slightly embarrassed by its origins, but I got so used to the name that I just keep with it now. Yes, I am a girl and the fact that many people make that mistake astounds me seeing as I write for a blog called Anime Princess, but you would be surprised how many people think otherwise for unknown reasons! Well, enough about people and their doubt towards my gender, it is clearly confirmed that I am a girl. Anyway, in terms of my writing style, I am very opinionated and I have my own voice. I do not have many skills in terms of the organization of my paragraphs or reviews, so anything goes. When I write I never have a plan on what I want to write about (at one point at did, but my posts turned out too long since I touched up on every part of an episode and a one episode post was over a thousand words), instead I just see what comes from my mind as I stare blankly at my computer screen with the keyboard in hand. Not the most effective way of writing, but it has been working all this while, so why change?
Anime Princess is a blog that came into being on November 2nd 2007 down at wordpress where I used to “live”. I remember that date now by heart because I missed my first anniversary of ever having any blog by 5 days last year…Anyway, thanks to 7 I was able to join the kokidokom family. This new blog has been around since the 19th of January 2009. Lucky me, I now get to celebrate two anniversaries! I like my new blog much better simply because it is easier to reflect who you are as a blogger when you can change your theme, add many more additions to your blog, until it is to your taste and not have to deal with the many problems of wordpress. My reasons for starting to blog are pretty boring. My sister suggested the idea to me, and I tried it out, back then I did not realize that I would actually keep to it for this long. I am soon to reach my two year birthday of being part of the blogosphere, which in the blogosphere is pretty impressive (and old) I guess…
So many new blogs are popping out of nowhere nowadays that it is hard to keep track of them all and why should you pay attention to this one little place known as Anime Princess? I don’t really have an answer, but I have experience at what I do and I love to make new friends. I have am opinion on everything and if you want to hear mine then stick around. I am sadly a very bad procrastinator, but I hope to fix that sort of, but no promises!
I am obviously a passionate anime lover. I got into it all form movies. I started watching and loving anime films that were mostly all Miyazaki, then I started to explore the Ghibli world and from there it only became more and more vast. I owe my now closed but used to be local library who actually had quite a collection of anime films and series a lot. I have seen a lot of anime films, but at one point I decided to explore series and seeing Neon Genesis at my library turned out to be one of the first animes I really got into. Though, as a youngen, I also technically enjoyed anime, but I don’t really think it counts for much if you don’t know what it is. I was one of those kids that loved Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon, Carcaptors, Yu-Gi-Oh, Hamtaro and more. I do not know how I never managed to realize what I was watching especially since I saw so much of it back then. Though back to what I was saying about Neon Genesis, that when I started to explore into series I started to broaden my horizon and I would just watch whatever got my eye, which turned out to be a lot of eclectic stuff. Some of the shows that I loved when I started getting into series was Elfen Lied, Princess Tutu, Loveless and Paradise Kiss. Some of those series today are shows that I still love, but some I just find weird that I ever started watching them. When I watched Loveless I did not even understand the fact that it was Shounen Ai.
The fact that I experimented with so many different series I think shaped who I am today. I now know a bit more to the kind of style that I like. It took me long enough to realize that for animes every season a bunch of new animes would be realized, but when I finally figured this out that is when I started getting seriously into anime and I started to learn everything about it. I am not old to the subject, but I do not consider myself new either, there will always be more to learn I guess. My favourite series now are much different from before, but I am still not too sure I have found that anime that really stands at the top for me. I wish I had more time to watch series, but in the meantime I will slowly continue to watch more and more. I also love getting suggestions!
Well, I hope this is a sufficient about page. I think I wrote a bit too much and some of the things I wanted to mention got lost somewhere in my mind, I doubt anybody with common sense would read all this ramble, but for those who are actually new to Anime princess, I hope you drop a few comments and tell me what you think because I would love to hear what you have to say!

Hey Lostty. I found your blog via Beyond the Valley of the Cinephiles. It appears you’re a relatively new writer and thought I might make a couple of comments:
* Great theme for a website. You’ll never run out of something new to write about.
* Anime Princess is a sweet title.
* Pretty good screenshots/images, but the more the better.
* If you’re going to write long reviews, consider breaking your huge paragraphs up into 3 or 4 sentence paragraphs that will be easier to read.
* Try to post something new every other day. Bloggers who go five or more days between posts aren’t really serious and their site traffic tends to reflect that.
I’ll add you to my blogroll. I hope this unsolicited advice helps. Keep writing! I think you’ve got a good thing going.

Dear Anime Princess,
Given the exponential growth of the anime blogosphere, the number of quality blogs with insightful opinions and perspectives are ever increasing. Yet a majority of the blogs out there remain isolated, lacking a sense of community and meaningful interaction. The Anime Blog Awards was created in order to bridge that gap by recognising worthy bloggers and their achievements in various fields.
With that in mind, please visit http://animeblogawards.com for more details and vote for your favourite blog. Nominations can only be proposed by anime bloggers but there will be reader’s involvement in the voting phase. Your vote counts! It would be great if you could make a post on your blog regarding its official date (April 1st, and no, this isn’t an elaborate April Fools either) to inform your fellow anime bloggers of the award. Our vision is to make this the first major event for all anime bloggers and something we can look forward to every year.
Regards,
The Anime Blog Awards Committee

I need to know something, we have a very similar taste in animation but there’s one animated series I can’t seem to find any trace of you enjoying…. Nodame Cantabile, why aren’t you in love with Nodame Cantabile as well?

@u11241897135181: Well, it’s been on my To Watch list for a little too long. I’ve read a volume of the manga and really enjoyed it. I have been told to watch the series a lot, but if it’s that recommended I will start watching it tonight…
edit: I watched the first episode, just as I promised! It seems like it’s going to be a good series and I’ll continue watching when I have the time! Thank you!

Cool! Very refreshing feel to the new theme. Brings about a sense of vast space. Is it final?
Sweet! I LOVE the Toradora! banner!!!
Erm.. Just out of curiosity. Did you had a roll-back or something?

@blur: actually, it’s not all complete, there is still some things that need to be done. When it’s final I’ll make my post about it, but in the meantime, thank you very much
I guess I did have a roll-back of a sort to be able to get the comment option and the actual comments back on my pages…
