Eden of the East episodes 5+6

Episode 5
When you think it over, not too much happened in this episode, but at the same time it definitely seemed quite dramatic. For the most part, Akira just spent his time trying to find out who he was and looking super cool in every scene he appeared in. Saki had a job interview that went horribly and Satoshi expected to console her as a “friend”, but was extremely upset to see her being driven away on Akira’s motorcycle. We also meet a new Selecao, all that was really evident about her in this episode is that she is not far from the word evil. I originally expected to be disappointed when I realized they were focusing a lot on Saki, but I was happy to discover that business Saki is actually interesting. When she seemed depressed, it was also just very dramatic.
I also felt badly for Satoshi, who seemed really upset with reason. Though, the scene with Akira and Saki was just too good for me to feel anything more than that. Akira’s personality just seems to have changed so much and he only becomes more intriguing as the series goes on. He also kissed Saki, which was a great scene not because of the romance, but how it was dramatic. I loved the backgrounds throughout the motorcycle scene as he was taking Saki away as well, it all looked so beautiful and the music in the background really made an otherwise normal scene intense. This episode has made some great build-up that would leave anyone excited to see more.
Best Moment: WAH!

Episode 6
This episode contained a lot of information that I won’t go into further detail about because I would probably bore myself. Besides the last 5 or so minutes, this episode didn’t interest me as much as others have. In fact, it was probably my least favourite so far. Perhaps it was because I just wasn’t in the mood to watch really Eden of the East, but at least as a positive, I really enjoyed the last five minutes, which brought back the dramatic part of the series and just made me happy with the whole fireworks part.
The series has now reached its halfway point though, so I’m hoping to see some more action to come. This is a series that can present its audience with a lot of information while be interesting with plot twists, but in the end it really is just leading up to its end. I really am expecting a lot to come from this series as it reaches its final episodes…Speaking of halfway points, it’s weird to think so much time has passed since the spring anime season has started. Anywho, I am hoping to be extremely interested in the next episode or I really will be disappointed, which is something I don’t want to have to encounter in such a good series.
Best Moment: Akira can make quite an entrance!

From your previous coverage of Honey and Clover, seems that EoE would be coming along the way too. I’ve got such a huge backlog of anime that I will most likely get the entire series once it’s finished. Heck, I have yet to watch Honey and Clover! (that’s next on my list though).

@radiant: I never actually did any coverage on Honey and Clover x) But ya, I’m actually behind on many animes as well. I guess we’ll both be marathoning some series soon!
