Hakaba Kitarou ~Review~

-A very short review at that-
I just finished watching this series after a very long hiatus with it that goes all the way back to when it was airing. It is a series that came out in 2008 with 11 episodes and is the sixth adaptation since the original manga that was released in the late 50’s. Though, the thing that sets this series from the rest of the adaptations are that unlike the others, it isn’t trying to be a show for children. Instead it tries to be something of a horror story, but garnished with a touch of comedy. Its art style also demonstrates how it wants to be different, by being obscure and dark. Writing a proper review is really the only way to do this series justice, but considering I took such a long time to watch this series, I wouldn’t want to right a lot about something that isn’t completely fresh in my mind.
So in short, each episode revolves around its own little story about spirits and monsters, which for the most part is all very interesting, except some of them are slower than you would like. The stories were all unique, although I kind of wish they did continue from one episode to the next. Even the last episode of the whole series did not seem at all like a finale, but it does show how this series will simply never end! I am primarily suggesting this series to those who want a breath of fresh air and something completely different from the usual animes, but if you have a thing for characters with a right eye too big and an eyeball for a father, then this would also be the series for you!
^^Well, on another note, I just want to mention that you should really watch the opening, which basically makes the series worth watching automatically!

That was a really cool opening! Haha I admit it scared me when I put my headphones in and took me 30 seconds to find the source of the music XDD
I’ll have to put it on my ever growing to watch list!
@Karen: That’s happen to me before X) To watch lists, never seem to end!
I heard about his anime and after seeing your review I tried to check out one of the episodes and I enjoyed the artwork in this series. I’ll have to see it sometime
@Kitsune: I’m glad I could help you find a new series! The artwork really is very original.
